Romania: €30 million syndicated loan to Expur to increase processing of oilseeds

Source: Balkans.com The EBRD is supporting the diversification of Romanian agribusiness with a €30 million syndicated financing package to Expur S.A., a local oilseed processing company. Expur crushes rapeseed and sunflower seed, produces crude rapeseed oil, refined edible sunflower oil, as well as rapeseed meal, sunflower meal and biodiesel, for both domestic and export markets.

Lucian Anghel (CBR): “Romanian Agriculture could rank 2nd in Europe”

Source: Romania Libera According to an article published on the financial Times blog, Lucian Anghel, the Chief Economist of the Commercial Bank of Romania, thinks that Romanian Agriculture needs serious reforms to become more competitive, having the potential to become the second producer in Europe.

Romania exported agri-food worth €1.19bn, 55% more than 2010

Source: Agerpres According to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Romania`s exports of agri-food products to the EU and non-EU countries increased by 55% in the first 5 months of 2011, amounting over €1.19bn.


A new evaluation mission might allow Romania to export pork within EU

Source: Agerpres The head of the National sanitary Veterinary Agency declared that the experts of the European Commission will undertake a new evaluation mission in Romania, most probably in September 2011, to check some technical aspects necessary in order to re-start the export of pork meat and products to the EU member states.


The export of cattle, ovines and caprines increased by 42% in the first quarter

Source: Agerpres According to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the value of exports for these categories increased to €63.5m in the first quarter of 2011, 42% more than at the same time of the year in 2011 and 18 times higher than the import of livestock from the same categories.


AFE: Projects over Ron101m to reforest degraded agrarian fields
